Worst start for Manchester united

Manchester united season went from bad to worst after they lost to west ham in the premier league. After losing to lower division side derby county in the carabao cup and drawing to wolves in the premier league. Things just got worst for man utd after they saw themselves two nil down before half time. Substitute Marcus rashford gave the reds hope with just 20min remaining on the clock but their expectations did not last more than three minutes as Marko Arnautovic extended West Ham’s lead in the 74th minute.

Here are some photos of the pilot who died in the Nigeria Air force jet crash, which occurred today in abuja. The pilot has been identified as squadron leader MB Baba Ari. Here are photos of late Mr ari:       Statement from air commodore ibikunle daramola reads below: "It is with heavy heart that I regretfully announce that one of the pilots who successfully ejected from one of the f-NI air craft that crashed earlier today has passed on.may his soul rest in peace. Additional details on the incident will be communicated," Daramola said.  Another source also said: "Only one of the pilot's was able to eject, the other one couldn't (this is one of the best pilots in the air force) and he died on the spot." According to him, the pilot that ejected did not land well and has sustained a serious head injury which needs urgent surgery.

Pep : De Bruyne Set for Training Return.

Pep Guardiola expects Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne to return to training in the next few days. The Belgian playmaker suffered a knee ligament training in August and was initially ruled out for up to four months. However, Guardiola confirmed he is close to being able to rejoin his team-mates. "He's making the last steps," said the City boss. "He'll start taking a small part in training in the next days I think. Everything is going well." Guardiola says Benjamin Mendy is also making good progress but confirmed the defender was late arriving for a treatment session on Sunday after tweeting a picture of himself at Anthony Joshua's world title fight in the London the previous night. "He should be here. He knows it. I spoke with him," Guardiola said. Meanwhile, Guardiola says Phil Foden must be patient in his quest for a first Premier League start.

Davido shares photo of PDP voter's allegedly being harassed by police

The tales out of Osun state following the rerun elections taking place in the state have been bothersome. Music star, Davido who has been keenly following the elections, after his uncle Ademola Adeleke threw his hat into the governorship election ring under the plat form of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), shared a worrisome photo on his social media pages. A picture of two men being harassed by armed police officers. ''Security agents harassing PDP voters'' he tweeted. Davido has been following his uncle’s  campaign through the length and breadth of Osun state to gather support, and spent most of his time on social media monitoring the election, and sharing information with his followers. Even Nollywood actress, Ireti Doyle couldn't help but admire his persistence and doggedness during the campaign and the election that followed, and Senator Ben Murray Bruce also could not hide his respect for Davido.

CR7 free for man utd clash

UEFA have announced that Cristiano Ronaldo will serve a one-match ban after being shown a red card in Juventus' Champions League clash with Valencia. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was controversially dismissed following a clash with Jeison Murillo at Mestalla, although Juve went on to triumph through penalties from Miralem Pjanic either side of half-time. Ronaldo will sit out Juve's match against Swiss champions Young Boys but the decision from UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body means the ex-United favourite will be able to make his latest return to Old Trafford on October 23. United's Champions League triumph in 2007-08 marked Ronaldo's first success and he went on to win the title a further four times with Real Madrid. Busquets sign's New Barcelona Contract.

Sergio Busquets has signed new contract with Barcelona through to 2023, with his fresh terms including a €500 million (£445m/$585m) release clause. The 30-year-old midfielder is a product of the famed La Masia academy system in Catalunya and has spent his entire career to date at Camp Nou. He has now edged a step closer to hanging up his boots as a one-club man, with Barca tying his services down for the foreseeable future. The Liga giants have moved to put a new deal in place after seeing Busquets start to generate transfer talk. Despite his strong ties to the club, the World Cup winner had seen a possible move to England mooted. A reunion with former Barca boss Pep Guardiola at Manchester City was reported to be a possibility, with the Premier League champions prepared to spend big on a proven performer. Such speculation has now been brought to a close.

Germany to Host Euro 2024

Germany will host Euro 2024 after seeing off a rival bid from Turkey, UEFA has confirmed. It will be the first major international tournament staged in the country since the 2006 World Cup. Germany are three-time European champions, having last triumphed at Euro 96. Former Bayern Munich and Germany captain Philipp Lahm served as an ambassador for the bid, which will see games hosted in 10 cities. Bayern's Allianz Arena, Borussia Dortmund's Westfalenstadion and Berlin's Olympiastadion are all included, while there will also be matches staged in Gelsenkirchen, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Leipzig and Frankfurt.

Champions League to Have VAR From 2019

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system will be used in UEFA tournaments including the Champions League from next season, European football's governing body has confirmed. VAR will also feature in the finals of Euro 2020 and at the 2019 UEFA Super Cup. The Europa League will not use the technology until the group stage of the 2020-21 campaign and the 2021 round of Nations League finals, not those in 2019, will be the first to have VAR. UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said: "We are confident that introducing Video Assistant Referees in August 2019 will give us enough time to put in place a robust system and to train match officials to ensure an efficient and successful implementation of VAR in the UEFA Champions League, the world's flagship club competition." FIFA rolled out VAR for the 2018 World Cup following a number of earlier trials, while it is also being used in four of Europe's five major leagues.

Aisha buhari denies release of ADC

2.5 billion naira is hanging in the balance, and wife of the president, Aisha Buhari wants to see the end of the matter. There were reports that her Aide De Camp (ADC), CSP Sani Baban-Inna, has been released by the Department of State Service (DSS), but Buhari has denied the story. “The officer (Baban-Inna) is being investigated on allegation of corrupt practices, which is a serious offence” wrote Suleiman Haruna, Director of Information in the office of Mrs Buhari. “As such, it is unlikely that the DSS will compromise and release him mid-way without completing the investigation,’’ the statement read. Baban-Inna was detained by the DSS over allegations of collecting N2.5 billion on behalf of the First Lady without her consent. She had earlier refuted allegations suggesting that she used her ADC to collect funds from unsuspecting members of the Public. “I wish to use this opportunity to inform the general public that I have never sent any of my staff to collect any favours on my behalf ...

Hazard stunner dump's Liverpool out of carabao cup

Eden Hazard scored a stunning late winner as Chelsea came from behind to end Liverpool’s perfect start to the season and their hopes of winning the Carabao Cup.  Hazard came as a substitute in the second half and although he was not active for much of it, he suddenly burst into action by beating Alberto Moreno and smashing a finish into the far corner with five minute remaining. Sarri's side had been the better side in the first half with striker Alvaro Morata  no finding the post after striking a shot across the goalline and the Spain international also nodded a free header over the crossbar.  Liverpool, took the lead through Daniel Sturridge’s well-executed  finish, just minutes after the he missed a completely open net.  Emerson Palmieri’s leveled matters from close-range which needed intervention from the video assistant referee (VAR) to check for offside before being awarded.

Nigeria Labour Congress declares indefinite strike over minimum wage

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared the beginning of an  indefinite warning strike to pressure the Buhari administration to adopt  A new minimum wage for workers In a press statement on Wednesday, signed by the NLC general secretary, Peter Ozo-Eson, the congress resolved that the strike commence in the midnight of Wednesday.  The release reads: “ Representatives of organized labour, after due consultation and meetings, have therefore agreed that all unions and our Civil society allies should embark on a warning strike from midnight of Wednesday, 26th September, 2018,” the statement said.  “All affiliates and state councils are therefore expected to mobilize their members nationwide to ensure total compliance.” “The nationwide warning strike will remain in force until further directives are conveyed,"
