Hazard stunner dump's Liverpool out of carabao cup
Eden Hazard scored a stunning late winner as Chelsea came from behind to end Liverpool’s perfect start to the season and their hopes of winning the Carabao Cup.
Hazard came as a substitute in the second half and although he was not active for much of it, he suddenly burst into action by beating Alberto Moreno and smashing a finish into the far corner with five minute remaining.
Sarri's side had been the better side in the first half with striker Alvaro Morata no finding the post after striking a shot across the goalline and the Spain international also nodded a free header over the crossbar.
Liverpool, took the lead through Daniel Sturridge’s well-executed finish, just minutes after the he missed a completely open net.
Emerson Palmieri’s leveled matters from close-range which needed intervention from the video assistant referee (VAR) to check for offside before being awarded.
