Horror as live kangaroo is found with an arrow passing all the way through her head after she was shot by a cruel thug

A kangaroo was found with an arrow through the back of her head and sticking out of her eye in what the RSPCA has described as a horror attack.

She was found by a security worker at Central Coast's Morisset Hospital on Sunday morning.

Kangaroos are known to frequent the area, and are accustomed to being fed by humans.

Police and animal welfare groups are both involved in attempting to locate the kangaroo after she ran off in a distressed state.

Police discovered a second crossbow at the scene and have opened an investigation into its origins.
